La presentan como ex ejecutiva de empresas globales que llevan la industria de los berries, pero es mas que eso; es una emprendedora, que en pandemia ha levantado su sitio de tecnologías, sumando mas visitas de lo que imaginó al inicio, es una asesora internacional de berries, y actualmente asumió un nuevo desafío en Chile, con Space Ag.

Paula del Valle es una profesional de la industria agrícola con más 20 años de experiencia, que hoy lidera su emprendimiento y además un startup, y continúa trabajando día a día para apoyar a la industria y encontrar fórmulas para aportar.

Cuando en septiembre de 2020 decidiste trabajar sola y seguir avanzando, pensaste que, a un año y unos meses, tendrías este avance?

   La verdad, solo tenía claro que quería ser un aporte a la industria, con las herramientas y experiencia que había adquirido, para lograr apoyar a startups de tecnologías en postcosecha, calidad y así mejorar la calidad y condición de los arándanos en destino, dar visibilidad a nuevas tecnologías, a la innovación.

   Sabía que no iba a ser fácil, lo único que tenía claro era la idea de lo que iba a hacer, y ni siquiera como iba a hacerlo, partí con el sitio, buscando apoyo, y conversando con muchas personas. Y las redes comenzaron a funcionar.

   La meta de una cierta cantidad de visitas la pasamos a los 5 meses de haber iniciado, hoy es mucho más, estamos publicando diariamente, trabajando para seguir armando comunidad.

   En cuanto a las asesorías/consultorías, se han dado mas fuera de Chile, yo creo que gracias a mi experiencia con los diferentes orígenes, es algo que me encanta; poder apoyar una operación y tener la oportunidad de hacerlo desde origen a destino es increíble!.

   Además, la posibilidad de mantenerme al tanto en los avances y validaciones de las diferentes tecnologías es algo que me permite hacer las mejores recomendaciones para cada operación en particular.

   El segundo semestre 2021 fue muy movido, muchas conferencias, se abrieron las fronteras, pude volver a visitar las operaciones en los diferentes orígenes; y ver fruta en destino.

   Hace poco mas de dos meses, se abrió la oportunidad de ser parte de SpaceAg. El proyecto lo conozco desde hace unos años, fui usuaria y así como me ha ocurrido con varias tecnologías, es algo de lo que puedo dar fe con toda certeza que es un aporte a la operación que lo implemente. Conozco sus aplicaciones, el potencial, y al tremendo equipo detrás del desarrollo, no solo como profesionales sino como personas. Y creo que también con mi experiencia puedo ser un aporte para ellos.

Que viene para este 2022?,

   Muchos y grandes desafíos, me encanta mi trabajo; tener la oportunidad de seguir creciendo en diferentes orígenes alrededor del mundo y ver nuevas variedades; ser un aporte y a la vez seguir aprendiendo es increíble!  Con el sitio, queremos continuar con el trabajo para colaborar con la industria frutícola, uno de ellos es la nueva sección para conocer a profesionales ligados a ella que parte este mes, para así disponibilizar información no solo de tecnologías sino también de personas, y sus quehaceres.

   Y en cuanto a mi función como parte de Space Ag, la clave es avanzar en Chile, con empresas diversas, así como diversa es la realidad de Chile para logar una estabilidad de crecimiento, camino a consolidar la filial; considerando la estructura país tan diferente al modelo peruano.

Algún comentario final?

   Estamos en medio de una pandemia que no ha terminado, nos queda aún y debemos convivir con ello, lo que hace complejas las operaciones y al mismo tiempo requiere, y así nos lo ha hecho ver el aprendizaje de estos casi dos años, del apoyo y redes a nivel global. Al mismo tiempo la industria se vio forzada a avanzar hacia un acelerado sistema de trabajo híbrido en muchos casos, y se a avanzado hacia un creciente necesidad, por que ya no es opción, del uso de tecnologías para monitoreo desde las labores de huerto, tránsitos, y destino de nuestros productos, el aumento de proveedores de los diferentes servicios, nos presenta un amplio abanico para escoger, lo importante es escoger lo mas apropiado a mi realidad/operación y lo que me entregue el mejor soporte, apoyo y resultados.

   La innovación no va a parar, debemos avanzar con ella, y seguir creciendo, El mundo cambió y esto llego para quedarse, es fascinante la verdad tener la oportunidad de ser parte de estos procesos y observar la evolución y resultados. Agradezco la confianza, el apoyo y la colaboración a cada una de las personas detrás de las marcas, startups y empresas que nos han acompañado este año y medio! Y seguimos creciendo, creando comunidad y colaborando para agregar valor!

When in September 2020 you decided to work alone and keep moving forward, did you think that, in a year and a few months, you would have this advance?

   The truth was, I was only clear that I wanted to be a contribution to the industry, with the tools and experience that I had acquired, to be able to support startups of technologies in postharvest, quality and thus improve the quality and condition of blueberries at destination, give visibility to new technologies, to innovation.

   I knew it was not going to be easy, the only thing I was clear about was the idea of ​​what I was going to do, and not even how I was going to do it, I started with the site, looking for support, and talking to many people. And the networks began to work.

   We passed the goal of a certain number of visits 5 months after starting, today is much more, we are publishing daily, working to continue building a community.

   As for the consultancies , they have been given more outside of Chile, I think that thanks to my experience with the different origins, it is something that I love; Being able to support an operation and having the opportunity to do it from origin to destination is incredible!

   In addition, the possibility of keeping abreast of the advances and validations of the different technologies is something that allows me to make the best recommendations for each particular operation.

   The second semester 2021 was very busy, many conferences, the borders were opened, I was able to revisit the operations in the different origins; and see fruit at the destination.

   Just over two months ago, the opportunity to be part of SpaceAg opened. I have known the project for a few years, I was a user and just as it has happened to me with various technologies, it is something that I can attest to with complete certainty that it is a contribution to the operation that implements it. I know its applications, the potential, and the tremendous team behind the development, not just as professionals but as people. And I think that also with my experience I can be a contribution to them.

What’s next for 2022?

   Many great challenges, I love my job; have the opportunity to continue growing in different origins around the world and see new varieties; being a contribution and at the same time continuing to learn is incredible! With the site, we want to continue with the work to collaborate with the fruit industry, one of them is the new section to meet professionals linked to it who are leaving this month, in order to make information available not only about technologies but also about people, and their tasks.

   And as for my role as part of Space Ag, the key is to move forward in Chile, with diverse companies, as well as the reality of Chile to achieve stability of growth, on the way to consolidating the subsidiary; considering the country structure so different from the Peruvian model.

Any final comment?

   We are in the middle of a pandemic that has not ended, we still have and we must live with it, which makes operations complex and at the same time requires, and thus has made us see the learning of these almost two years, of the support and global networks. At the same time, the industry was forced to move towards an accelerated hybrid work system in many cases, and it has advanced towards a growing need, because it is no longer an option, to use technologies for monitoring from orchard work, transits , and destination of our products, the increase in providers of the different services, presents us with a wide range to choose from, the important thing is to choose the most appropriate to my reality / operation and what gives me the best support, support and results.

   Innovation is not going to stop, we must advance with it, and continue to grow, The world changed and this is here to stay, it is fascinating to have the opportunity to be part of these processes and observe the evolution and results. I appreciate the trust, support and collaboration of each of the people behind the brands, startups and companies that have accompanied us this year and a half! And we continue to grow, create community and collaborate to add value!
